A round up of all the action for the Darley stallions over the past week
Robert Bruce strikes again

A Champion in his native Chile, Fast Company’s outstanding son Robert Bruce added a well-deserved first G1 victory in the US at the weekend with a sensational win in the Arlington Million.

Sweeping down the home straight having raced towards the rear of the field for much of the race, Robert Bruce’s win was simply thrilling, as he ran down Dubawi’s G1-winning son Almanaar close to home to win by half a length. He has now won five races at the highest level and has been victorious in eight of his nine starts.

Remarkably, the Darley stallions were responsible for the first three home as Century Dream (Cape Cross) put up another solid performance to take third.

Fast Company is firing in the winners this year and with his best crops yet to hit the track, there will surely be plenty more exciting days to come for this exciting sire.

Scorching summer continues for Teofilo

Teofilo is certainly making hay while the sun shines, and last week he added a brace of new 2018 Black Type winners, courtesy of Eziyra and Teodoro. H H The Aga Khan’s useful filly Eziyra added a fourth Group win to her record on Thursday, 9 August with an easy victory in the G3 Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown.

A wonderfully consistent performer, she has never finished out of the first three (including when third in last year’s G1 Darley Irish Oaks) and could step back up to the highest level on her next start, as she holds an entry in the G1 Darley Yorkshire Oaks.

Teodoro (pictured) added his first Group win on Saturday, 11 August when making all to land the G3 Rose Of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock.

With August not even halfway through, Teofilo has sired a superb four Group winners so far this month, including record-breaking Gordon Stakes winner Cross Counter.

Loxley makes it five for New Approach’s Classic crop

New Approach’s current three-year-olds are a truly exceptional group, headed of course by Derby hero Masar, and last Saturday he added a fifth Black Type winner from this crop in the form of Loxley.

Having shown promise when second to Wells Farhh Go (Farhh) in the G3 Bahrain Trophy during July week, Charlie Appleby’s charge made a successful trip across the English Channel to win the Listed Prix Calvalassur at Deauville.

Loxley is currently around 12-1 to take Britain’s oldest Classic, the G1 St Leger.

Further success for Slade Power

Slade Power’s first runners continue to make their presence felt and on Friday, 10 August, he added another new winner when Tenax put up a determined performance to win over five furlongs at Tipperary.

Slade Power is also sire of three-time scorer Princess Power and Stakes filly Strings Of Life.
