The two feature races on the card at York on Wednesday, 13 May were won in some style by Darley-sired runners as Elmonjed led home a 1-2 for Blue Point in the G2 Minster Stakes, swiftly followed by a battling victory for Legacy Link (Dubawi) in the G3 Musidora.
Shadwell homebred Elmonjed added a seventh career win to his record, holding off Blue Point’s G1 winner Kind Of Blue in the closing stages of the six-furlong Minster Stakes. He rounded off his 2025 campaign with victory in the Listed Garrowby Stakes over the same course and distance.
Elmonjed is out of the winning Oasis Dream mare Naafer, a full-sister to another smart speedster in Ertijaal, winner of the G2 Meydan Sprint and twice placed in the G1 Al Quoz Sprint. He becomes the second new Group winner in just four days for Blue Point, following Rayevka's impressive win in the G3 Prix de Saint-Georges at Longchamp on Sunday.
The following race saw this year’s three-year-old fillies stake their claim for the G1 Oaks at Epsom and Dubawi’s impeccably bred daughter Legacy Link threw herself into contention for next month’s Classic when battling to victory in the G3 Musidora Stakes.
Legacy Link was settled in third under Colin Keane early on in the 10.5-furlong contest and travelled well throughout. The John and Thady Gosden-trained filly then came with a tremendous run down the home straight to take up the running and saw off a determined challenge from Felicitas (Teofilo) to prevail by three quarters of a length.
Owned and bred by Juddmonte, Legacy Link boasts a truly outstanding pedigree, being out of a full-sister to Frankel.
She will bid to become Dubawi’s second Oaks winner, following Ezeliya’s victory two years ago.
