Son of Blue Point wins his first Stakes race

Jagged Edge strikes in the Listed Vincent O’Brien Ruby Stakes

Jagged Edge, a four-year-old son of Blue Point, won his first Stakes race on Friday, 21 August when landing the Listed Vincent O’Brien Ruby Stakes. Run over a mile at Killarney, he recorded a one-and-a-quarter length triumph over Carolina Jetstream and Hardy Warrior, both by Pinatubo.

Bred by Newtown Anner Stud Farm, Jagged Edge is a son of the Group-placed Jaega, who also has a yearling filly by Pinatubo.

Blue Point in enjoying an excellent season, siring 11 Stakes winners including star filly Blue Bolt, winner of the G1 Falmouth and G1 Prix Rothschild, Samangan, who won the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest earlier this month and the unbeaten G2-winning juvenile Inner City Blues.
