New winner for Middle Park hero Charming Thought

First-crop daughter Charming Queen gets off the mark at Dax

Charming Queen, a first-crop daughter of Charming Thought, made it third time lucky getting off the mark to win at Dax on Tuesday, 4 August. Racing keenly, the two-year-old filly mounted a challenge on the final turn to join eventual second Healey. The pair pulled away in the final 100m with Charming Queen just denying her challenger by a head.

Owned and bred by Mette Campbell-Andenaes, Charming Queen is a half-sister to the Listed-placed Miss Rebel out of the Redback mare Royal Adelaide. She is a half-sister to the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes winner Drawnfromthepast and out of the Listed-placed Copy Cat, herself a half-sister to G3 Prix du Bois victrix Rich And Famous. This is the extended family of multiple G1 winner Crown’s Master.

This is the third winner for Middle Park hero Charming Thought following the wins of Alicestar and Kobenhavn. His promising son Charterhouse, who made an encouraging debut when finishing second at Leopardstown last month, is also declared for the G3 Tyros Stakes on Thursday.
