Distant Storm, a three-year-old son of Night Of Thunder, bounced back to winning form with an impressive win in the G3 Prix Daphnis. Run over a mile at Deauville, he was struggling for room in the straight and had to display a superb turn of foot to reel in Grand Son Of Dark to win by a length, with three-and-a-half lengths back to the third.

As a juvenile Distant Storm was impressive in the G3 Somerville Tattersall Stakes before running third in the G1 Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket. His Classic campaign started at the same course when third in the 2,000 Guineas, before heading to Ireland when second only to Gstaad in their version. Distant Storm has never been outside the first three in seven career starts.
Bred by Newsells Park Stud, Distant Storm is out of the Stakes-placed Date With Destiny, who was the only foal produced by brilliant miler George Washington. Bought for €1,900,000 at Deauville, Distant Storm is half-brother to four winners including the highly rated Classic (Dubawi).
Later in the card Night Of Thunder sired his second Stakes winner when his three-year-old son Behike impressed in the Listed Prix Moonlight Cloud over 1200m. Lightly raced, he won a brace of races at Lingfield Park in April and May and came into the race on the back of an excellent second at Ascot.

Bred by Irish National Stud Mare Syndicate Iv and a 500,000gns yearling, his dam Sagrada Familia was a winner over nine furlongs at Punchestown.
Night Of Thunder, Champion of 2025, is having another spectacular year and now has sired 15 Group winners. They are led by G1 winners Ombudsman and Bow Echo, the top two horses trained in Europe, plus Ten Bob Tony, Estrange and Portfolio Duration.
