A century of Stakes winners for Night Of Thunder

Siena Storm cruises to victory in the Bosra Sham to become her Champion sire’s 100th individual Stakes winner

Reigning Champion sire Night Of Thunder, who is set to retain his title in 2026, reached a new milestone on Friday, 30 October when Siena Storm became his 100th individual Black Type winner.

Lining up in the six-furlong Bosra Sham at Newmarket, the two-year-old filly was always travelling well and accelerated brilliantly out of the dip to ease clear and win by six lengths.

Siena Storm broke her maiden in a Β£40,000 novice at Salisbury in August, before finishing fourth in the G3 Prestige Stakes at Goodwood later the same month.

Bred by Stauffenberg Bloodstock Services, Siena Storm is out of the winning Sea The Stars mare Sous Les Etoiles, who is herself out of a half-sister to G1 winner Rebecca Sharp and from the extended family of Golden Horn.

Night Of Thunder has enjoyed another outstanding year, siring six G1 winners including the unbeaten 2,000 Guineas winner Bow Echo, plus brilliant Prince Of Wales’s and Champion Stakes hero Ombudsman – both of whom will join the Darley stallion roster for 2027.

He is also responsible for the highest-priced yearling sold in the world this year when breaking the European record for a colt at 4.6m guineas.

Also at Newmarket on Friday, Night Of Thunder's own sire Dubawi demonstrated that he can keep firing in the Stakes winners when his son Aegean Prince ran out the determined winner of the G3 St Simon Stakes.

The Godolphin homebred is out of G1 winner Musis Amica (Dawn Approach), a descendant of three-time G1 winner White Star Line.
