Power Blue, Space Blues’ star first-crop son, returned to the winners enclosure on Sunday, 19 July with a thrilling victory in the G2 Minstrel Stakes. Run over seven furlongs at the Curragh, he was never far off the pace and wasn’t extended to record a one-and-a-half length victory.

The highlight of Power Blue’s juvenile campaign came over the same course last season, when beating True Love in the G1 Phoenix Stakes. Although this was his first victory as a three-year-old, he had been running with credit in top races after fourth’s in the G1 Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Bred by Finanza Locale Consulting, Power Blue is a son of the Group-placed Worthadd mare Visions, who in turn is a daughter of the G3-winning Italian sprinter Charming Woman.
Space Blues has been enjoying an excellent year, and has sired the winners of more races in 2026 than any other second-crop sire. With the quantity also come quality, with his four Black Type winners unbeaten amongst the same cohort.
