Fuel The Jet continued his progressive autumn as he notched a first Pattern-race success in the G3 Somerville Tattersall Stakes at Newmarket.
Lining up after a comfortable victory at Doncaster’s St Leger Festival, the son of Space Blues quickened best from the rear of a bunched field and won decisively by three-quarters of a length.
Bred by Brickfield Stud, the €190,000 yearling purchase is the fifth foal out of La Rosetta, a half-sister to G1 winners Tornado Alert (Too Darn Hot) and Just Fine.

Fuel The Jet is the third Stakes winner so far from Space Blues’ second crop, which also includes G3 Anglesey Stakes scorer Ballinea Star. Space Blues is the sire of G1 winner Power Blue, who added the G2 Minstrel Stakes to his tally in July.
