Night Of Thunder dominates the G1 Queen Anne Stakes

Ten Bob Tony and More Thunder finish one-two in Royal Ascot showpiece

Night Of Thunder sired three of the first four in the G1 Queen Anne Stakes, the opening race of the Royal Ascot meeting. Getting his breakthrough first top-flight triumph was Ten Bob Tony who just managed to get the better of More Thunder by half-a-length in the one-mile showpiece.

Ghaiyyath’s son Opera Ballo finished third with Zeus Olympios, another son of Night Of Thunder, completing the dominance of the Dubawi sireline back in fourth.

Ten Bob Tony has now won five career starts including the G3 Tattenham Corner Stakes at Epsom just ten days ago.

Bred by Knocktoran Stud, Ten Bob Tony is a son of the winning Dark Angel mare Hug, who also has a juvenile colt by Space Blues, who was a €90,000 Foal at Goffs in 2024.

Night Of Thunder was crowned Champion sire in GB and Ireland for the first time in 2025. He has continued that form into 2026 and has now sired four G1 winners, more than any other stallion in Europe. They are led by 2,000 Guineas hero Bow Echo, classy future Darley stallion Ombudsman, and Portfolio Duration, who won the New York Stakes earlier this month at Saratoga.
