Ten Bob Tony, a five-year-old son of Night Of Thunder, recorded another Group victory on Saturday, 6 June when landing the G3 Tattenham Corner Stakes. Run over seven furlongs at Epsom, he was always well placed in third, and when asked to challenge in the straight, showed great tenacity to beat Witness Stand by a head.
The winner of the G3 John Of Gaunt Stakes last year at Haydock Park, Ten Bob Tony went on to be placed at G1 level in the Prix de la Forêt at ParisLongchamp last October.
Bred by Knocktoran Stud, Ten Bob Tony is a son of the winning Dark Angel mare Hug, who also has a juvenile colt by Space Blues, who was a €90,000 Foal at Goffs in 2024.
Night Of Thunder was crowned Champion sire in GB and Ireland for the first time in 2025. In total, he sired 32 Black Type winners last season including his first British Classic winner in Desert Flower and the Dewhurst hero Gewan. 2026 has started in similar vein and already includes Ombudsman winning his third G1 in the Dubai Turf, 2,000 Guineas hero Bow Echo and Portfolio Duration, who won the G1 New York Stakes yesterday at Saratoga.
