New winner for Space Blues

Lady Blues wins well over a mile in Italy

Lady Blues, a first crop daughter of Space Blues, gained a valuable first victory on Sunday, 21 December. Running over a mile at Siracusa, she swept to the front near the finish to win going away by two lengths.

Lady Blues was gaining a well deserved first win after two second and two third placings.

Bred by Pier House Stud and bought by Marco Bozzi as a yearling, she is out of the unraced Dawn Approach mare Lady Of Power, who is from the family of G2-winning juvenile Powerful Breeze (Iffraaj).

Space Blues has enjoyed an excellent first season, siring 24 two-year-old winners including Power Blue, winner of the G1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh in August. His five Black Type performers also includes Listed winner Drago Blues and the Group-placed pair Do Or Do Not and Bourbon Blues.

He is standing the forthcoming season at a fee of €15,000.
