Amazona strikes in Germany

Daughter of Dubawi lands the Listed Grand Prix-Aufgalopp

Dubawi, fresh after siring the impressive Dubai G1 winner Postponed on Saturday, sired a new Stakes winner in Germany when his four-year-old daughter Amazona landed the Listed Grand Prix-Aufgalopp at Cologne. The lightly-raced filly who was only making her sixth career start, was soon making the running and quickening clear at the head of the straight, she went further and further clear for a very easy success.

Bred by Gestut Schlenderhan, Amazona is a daughter of the G1 German Oaks heroine Amarette (Monsun), who also has a yearling colt by Exceed And Excel.

Dubawi has now sired 101 worldwide Stakes winners including 23 that have struck at the highest level. He is joined on the Darley roster by four of these; Poet's Voice, winner of the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes; 2,000 Guineas hero Night Of Thunder; three-time G1 scorer Hunter's Light and Dubai World Cup winner Monterosso.
