God’s Window becomes Dubawi’s 65th G1 winner

Dubawi’s global influence was again evident in Australia as God’s Window won the G1 Epsom Handicap (1,600m) at Randwick on Saturday, 3 October.

The British-bred six-year-old finished strongly down the outside to defeat Ceolwulf by 1.68 lengths, with Harry Angel’s G1 winner Tom Kitten finishing third.

The victory made God’s Window the 65th G1 winner and 330th Stakes winner worldwide for Dubawi. He is also his sire’s sixth G1 winner in Australia.

God’s Window was bred by Cayton Park Stud and began his career in the UK with John and Thady Gosden, earning placings at G3 and Listed level before being purchased by Drakenstein Stud.

Now trained by Chris Waller for Drakenstein Stud’s Gaynor Rupert, God’s Window provided Waller with his seventh Epsom Handicap victory.

The result was also a significant milestone for apprentice jockey Siena Grima, who won on her first ride in a G1 race.
