Watchme Win delivers a Listed win at Flemington

Son of Harry Angel wins his third Black Type race in Fisher Stakes

Connections of Harry Angel sprinter Watchme Win did just that after the six-year-old gelding won the Listed Fisher Stakes over 1200m on Champions Day, his second start at Flemington in the space of the week.

A three-time Stakes winner, the Blake Shinn-ridden Watchme Win had a one-and-a-quarter lengths to spare over runner-up Inkaruna with Photograph another neck away in third.

He was Harry Angel’s second Flemington Melbourne Cup Carnival winner for the week.

Bred by the Toorak Thoroughbred Breeding Trust and trained by Andrew Gluyas at Morphettville, Watchme Win was a $160,000 Inglis Melbourne Yearling Sale purchase.

Now the winner of seven races Watchme Win is out of Sepoy mare Watchmespin, a Melbourne city winner who is also the dam of the Stakes-placed Point And Shoot.

Watchme Win’s three-year-old sister, also by Harry’s Angel, won her only start at Kembla Grange in August, signalling there is more to come from the family.

Harry Angel has enjoyed a good spring with five southern hemisphere Stakes winners including G1 Sir Rupert Clare Stakes winner Angel Capital, and G3 winners War Machine, Buggsy, and Harry’s Yacht, who won on VRC Oaks day.
