Third Stakes success for Poeta Diletto

Son of Poet’s Voice easily lands the Listed Premio Chiusura in Milan

Poeta Diletto, a first-crop son of Poet’s Voice, maintained his sires excellent record in Italy when taking the Listed Premio Chiusura in Milan. Already the winner of a brace of Group contests, the G3 Premio Guido Berardelli as a juvenile and the G3 Italian 2,000 Guineas last season, he had no trouble winning the seven furlong contest, running out the easily three length scorer.

Bred by Scuderia Blueberry, Poeta Diletto is the second foal of the Stakes-winning mare Mia Diletta (Selkirk) and a half-brother to the Stakes-placed juvenile Mia Eccellenza (Exceed And Excel). Mia Diletta, who has had a Golden Horn colt foal this season, is a half-sister to another Group winner for Poet’s Voice in G3 Italian 1,000 Guineas heroine Mi Raccomando.

Poet’s Voice, who is standing this season at a fee of £6,000 Oct 1, SLF, has been enjoying an excellent season. Poetic Dream become his sires second Classic winner of the year when taking the G2 German 2,000 Guineas, Poet’s Word was the easy G3 Glorious Stakes winner before running excellent seconds in both the Champion and Irish Champion Stakes and Voice Of Love took her Stakes haul to five with another two Group triumphs in Italy.
