Second Stakes win for Exceed And Excel's Reparation

3yo speedster secures MSS Security Sprint victory

Exceed And Excel gelding Reparations made a successful seasonal debut in the Listed MSS Security Sprint on 4 November, producing an enormous effort to take the six-and-a-half furlong race by a length-and-a-quarter.

Winner of the Listed Anniversary Vase over seven furlongs two starts back, Reparations was settled towards the back of the large field under Irish jockey Wayne Lordan, he made a sustained run to hit the front with a furlong to go and although drifting towards the inside rail, proved too strong for his rivals and won cosily.

Bred by Darley in Australia, Reparations is out of the Listed–winning Red Ransom mare Hold To Ransom. Also dam of the G3-winning, multiple G1-placed Retrieve, plus Listed winner Abduction (Street Cry), who is set to start one of the favoured runner in Thursday’s G1 Victorian Oaks, Hold To Ransom has a yearling filly by Sepoy and is currently in foal to Animal Kingdom.

Exceed And Excel is sire of 87 Stakes winners, including G1 winners Overreach, Earthquake, Excelebration, Amber Sky and Helmet, Exceed And Excel will stand at Kildangan Stud in 2015 at a fee of €40,000 October 1st Special live foal, alongside his triple G1-winning son Helmet who stands at a fee of €10,000.
