Second impressive victory for son of Space Blues

Tommy Space wins in Italy by five lengths

Tommy Space, a first-crop son of Space Blues, won his second career race on Friday, 26 December when defying a penalty in a 2000m Conditions race at Siracusa. Coming into the race fresh from an easy maiden triumph, he wasn’t hard pressed to record a five-length victory.

Bred by the China Horse Club and a Breeze Up purchase by Carmelo Cannarella, Tommy Space is one of six winners bred by the unraced mare Glorification, who hails from the extended family of Champion Enable, and G1 winners Spanish Moon and Flintshire.

Space Blues has enjoyed an excellent first season, siring 24 two-year-old winners including Power Blue, winner of the G1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh in August. His five Black Type performers also includes Listed winner Drago Blues and the Group-placed pair Do Or Do Not and Bourbon Blues.

He is standing the forthcoming season at a fee of €15,000.
