Night Of Thunder at the double

First-season sire adds a new winner in Dalanijujo, while Thunderous remains unbeaten with impressive victory at Redcar

Night Of Thunder’s first runners have been quick to make their presence felt on the racecourse and on Saturday, 20 July, he sired his 12th individual winner when Dalanijujo took the seven-furlong fillies’ maiden at Doncaster.

Mick Channon’s charge was settled just off the pace early on, but made smooth headway to take up the running two furlongs from home. She then battled impressively to see off a sustained challenge from Tadreej, winning by a short head.

Dalanijujo was bred by Limetree Stud and is out of the juvenile winner Kiss From A Rose (Compton Place), a half-sister to Dubawi’s useful Group winner Dubday. They are from the family of three-time G1 winner Notnowcato.

A day later, Thunderous, who was giving at least seven pounds to his rivals, remained unbeaten when landing the seven-furlong novice by two lengths at Redcar.

Night Of Thunder is also sire of the promising 92-rated pair Wild Thunder and Sun Power.
