Red-hot sire Night Of Thunder sired yet another new Stakes winner when his progressive three-year-old daughter Azaniya landed the Listed Prix Charles Laffitte at Compiegne over a mile and two furlongs on Friday, 10 October.
Settled just off the pace, Azaniya made her move with two furlongs to run, and drew readily clear in the closing stages to win going away by two lengths.
Impressive!
Azaniya enjoys the conditions at Compiegne, coming home in good style to gain Listed honours in the Prix Charles Laffitte for @OwenBurrowsRace and @maximeguyon_off! 🇫🇷 pic.twitter.com/Us2ok1d7DB
Bred by Elysian Bloodstock, Azaniya is a half-sister to G3 winner Azano. Her dam Azanara (Hurricane Run) is a half-sister to the G1 winner Prix Ganay winner Astarabad (Alleged).
Night Of Thunder has enjoyed a tremendous year and currently sits £300,000 clear in the UK and Irish sires’ table. Among his flagbearers this year is G1 1,000 Guineas winner Desert Flower, and Ombudsman, winner of the G1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes and G1 Juddmonte International. He looks to cap a brilliant season in the G1 Champion Stakes at Ascot in a week’s time.
