Listed success for Tiger Hill three-year-old

Yabigorse records third victory at Ascot; G1 runner-up for Dubawi; Guineas third for Shamardal

Yabigorse ran out the two-length winner of the Listed T J Smith Trophy at Ascot in Australia. The three-year-old Tiger Hill gelding reversed the form with Morant, to whom he had finished half a length second in the Listed Challenge Stakes at the same track on 27 February.

Bred in Australia by L J Cowell, Yabigorse is out of the Mukaddamah mare Mukda Lass. His success came on the same day that New Zealand-bred Dubawi two-year-old Cellarmaster added yet more black type to his admirable record after finishing runner-up in the G1 Auckland Diamond Stakes at Ellerslie. The colt has also won at Group Three and Listed level during his busy juvenile campaign.

Captain Sonador, by Shamardal, was beaten just a length when finishing third in the G1 Randwick Guineas a week after his paternal half-sister Faint Perfume, winner of the VRC Oaks in November, made a successful resumption in the G2 A V Kewney Stakes.

Curtana and Noetic, juveniles by Exceed And Excel and Cape Cross respectively, each gained black type when finishing second and third in the Listed Street Ice Cream Stakes at Flemington.
