First mares scanned in foal to Kildangan first season sires

Positive tests for Champions Ghaiyyath and Earthlight

Kildangan Stud’s Champion new recruits Ghaiyyath and Earthlight have both had their first mares tested in foal.

Ghaiyyath, who stands at a fee of €30,000 Oct 1, SLF, retired as the world’s best racehorse of 2020 after a series of thrilling triumphs at the highest level. After a facile win at Meydan in the G3 Dubai Millennium Stakes, he went unbeaten in three scintillating G1s, the Coronation Cup, the Eclipse, and the Juddmonte International, each time showing his customary brilliance from the front.

Retired with an unbeatable World’s Best Racehorse rating of 130, he ranks as the best ever by stellar sire Dubawi.

Ghaiyyath is joined at stud by Earthlight, with the son of Shamardal standing at a fee of €20,000, Oct 1, SLF. During his juvenile season in 2019, Earthlight was unbeatable, gracing the track five times for trainer Andre Fabre. After winning at Deauville and Maisons-Laffitte, he stepped up to Group company with a very easy four-length triumph in the G3 Prix de Cabourg.

Next followed the G1 Darley Prix Morny where he beat the high-class sprinters' Raffle Prize, Golden Horde, and A’Ali on very deep ground. His final start of the year was in the G1 Middle Park Stakes, where he lowered Newmarket’s six-furlong track record.
