Golden Savior, a two-year-old filly by Ghaiyyath, won her first Stakes race on Saturday, 5 September when landing the Listed Criterium de l’Ouest. Run over 1650m at Craon in France, the progressive juvenile stayed on well to win by three-quarters-of-a-length.
After a brace of runs over 1400m, she has now improved for the step up in trip, winning her last two starts including a previous victory at Clairefontaine.
Bred by Branton Court Stud, Golden Savior is a daughter of the placed Champs Elysees mare Golden Reign, who is a half-sister to Derby hero Golden Horn. Golden Reign has produced five winners including multiple scorers Noble Consort (Too Darn Hot) and Just Adair (Ghaiyyath).
Ghaiyyath has now sired 15 Black Type winners in his fledgling career including high-class G1 winners Opera Ballo, who runs in the G1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp tomorrow, and Observer. Golden Savior is from his third Irish crop that already includes Stakes winner Aperoll, and the hugely impressive debutant scorer Bin Jahwar.
