First foal for Helmet

The first foal by triple G1 winner Helmet was born at Woodside Park Stud in Australia, August 10.

The colt out of juvenile-winning More Than Ready mare In Expectation has delighted all at Woodside Park Stud.

“He is a lovely strong colt with an attractive head and a powerful hindquarter. We couldn’t be happier,” said Woodside Park Stud’s Murray Tillett.

A dual G1-winning juvenile and a winner of the Caulfield Guineas in record time as a three-year-old, Helmet is a son of Australian Champion stallion Exceed And Excel. He is out of the Singspiel mare Accessories, making him a three-quarter brother to dual G1-winning Commands four-year-old Epaulette.

Earlier this year Helmet covered his first book of mares at Kildangan Stud where 74 per cent of his mares were Stakes winners, their dams, daughters or siblings and included the dam of dual G1-winning sprinter Lethal Force.
