First foal for Champion juvenile Ultra

‘Superb, quality colt with class’ is born in France

The first foal by undefeated French Champion two-year-old, Ultra, arrived at the weekend and initial reports are very promising indeed.

The colt is out of Alia Island (Kitten’s Joy), a half-sister to G2 King Edward VII Stakes second Scotland, who is by Ultra’s own grandsire Monsun. She is also from the family of multiple G1 winner Shirocco.

He was described by his breeder Gerard Mimouni as, ‘a superb, quality colt with class’.

Ultra, who stands alongside his sire Manduro at Haras du Logis in France, won the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere in record time and was undefeated during his juvenile campaign.

Ultra’s 2019 fee is €7,000, Oct 1, SLF.
