Exceed And Excel mare claims G3 Belle of the Turf in Australia

Exceed And Excel’s daughter Mamwaazel finished powerfully over the concluding stages to narrowly defeat Bernardini mare Peace Force in the G3 Belle of the Turf over a mile at Gosford, January 9.

After settling towards the rear of the field, Mamwaazel came to the centre of the track in the straight and collared Peace Force in the final few strides.

Bred by Millenium Thoroughbreds, Donna Hannan and Anastasia Harkin, Mamwaazel is the first Stakes winner for Last Tycoon mare Amazoom, a half-sister to G2 winner Always Divine. Amazoom has a yearling colt by Exceed And Excel and foaled a Denman filly in October.

The sire of 91 Stakes winners, Exceed And Excel’s yearlings have sold up to $400,000 at the Magic Millions yearling sale this week while first-crop yearlings by his triple G1-winning son Helmet have sold up to $230,000.
