Darley-sired 1-2 in the Listed Prix Casimir Delamarre

Dubawi’s three-year-old daughter Crystal River gamely beats Garance (Teofilo)

Crystal River, a lightly raced three-year-old daughter of Dubawi, became Stakes winner 143 for her sire when gamely landing the Listed Prix Casimir Delamarre, defeating Teofilo’s daughter Garance. After having only one start as a juvenile, she made a belated seasonal debut a winning one in September when breaking her maiden at Hamilton by 13 lengths. Making her third career start, she was victorious by one-and-a-half lengths in the 1800m Chantilly contest.

She is the second foal of the Singspiel-mare Inner Secret, who is a half-sister to a brace of G1 winners in Dubai Destination and Librettist. Inner’s Secret first two foals are winners, the four-timer scorer Secret Ambition (Exceed And Excel) and Crystal River, and she has a two-year-old colt by Dubawi (named Midnight Meeting), a yearling colt by Raven’s Pass and had been tested in foal to Dawn Approach this season.

Dubawi has sired seven G1 winners this year. Two weeks ago Wild Illusion and Mubtaahij became top-flight scorers with the rest made-up by three G1-winning fillies in Bateel, Sobetsu and Nezwaah, the four-year-old colt Zarak, winner of the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and US winner Almanaar.
