Amber Sky sprints home at Sha Tin

Son of Exceed And Excel lands Hong Kong G1 contest in style

Exceed And Excel, who only yesterday sired the Blue Diamond Preview winner Mohave, recorded his second Stakes winner of the weekend in tremendous style when his son Amber Sky landed the Centenary Sprint (a local G1 contest) at Sha Tin.

Quickly away, Amber Sky soon took up the running and was never headed, cruising home to land the five-furlong race by two and a quarter lengths.

Bred in Australia by O E & D R Pope Pty Ltd, Amber Sky is out of the G2 winner Truly Wicked (also dam of Bernardini’s successful daughter Crystal River).

Australia's reigning Champion sire, Exceed And Excel is now sire of 79 Stakes winners worldwide, seven of whom have won at G1 level including Helmet (who is standing alongside his sire at Dalham Hall Stud this year), and star filly Guelph, who has won at the highest level no fewer than four times.

He stands at a fee of £35,000 October 1st Special Live Foal.
