More Thunder landed his first Group race of the season when comfortably taking the G2 Park Stakes over 7f at Doncaster on Saturday 12th September.
The five-year-old entire son of Night Of Thunder was putting his brace of G1 second-placed efforts behind him, scoring readily in the G2 contest on Town Moor.
Held in rear by jockey Tom Marquand, the William Haggas-trained horse was content to take a lead as the field stretched along at a decent pace. Stalking comfortably under his confident rider, More Thunder was eased to the stands-side and called upon for an effort as they stormed up the straight. He readily obliged, making his move from last to first and challenging the leaders within the final furlong to run out an emphatic winner and scoring by an increasing one and three-quarter lengths.
This was More Thunder's second G2 win, having graduated from Handicap company last season when taking the G2 Hungerford Stakes over 7f at Newbury in August 2025. He subsequently ran with great credit to finish second in two G1 races this season; behind Notable Speech (Dubawi) in The Lockinge Stakes at Newbury and Ten Bob Tony (Night Of Thunder) in The Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot, both over 1m.
Bred by Woodstock B/S Ltd & Troy Bloodstock Ltd out of their Listed-winning mare, Buying Trouble (Hat Trick), More Thunder is a half-brother to Thirsk winner Wind In Your Sails (Sea The Stars).
Night Of Thunder, whose illustrious sons Bow Echo and Ombudsman set the standard, has recorded five individual G1 winners in 2026, putting him clear of all other sires in the world. He was the only stallion to have seven-figure yearlings in Britain, Ireland and France in 2025.
