Kon Tiki turned in a massive performance at Ascot on Saturday 25th July 2026, stepping up from her win in Listed company and running away with the G3 Valiant Stakes.
The daughter of Night Of Thunder was never far from the pace right from the gates, stalking the leader under an enterprising Ryan Moore. Always in contention, the Jane Chapple-Hyam-trained filly made the most of her position to seize the race in the home straight, galloping clear with more than a furlong to go and holding on to win by a comfortable length and a quarter.
Skydance, also representing the sire, held on tenaciously for third, seeing Night Of Thunder filling two of the first three places in the one mile contest.
Bred by Brightwalton Bloodstock Ltd, Kon Tiki is out of G3 March Stakes winner Maid Up (Mastercraftsman) and a half-sister to Listed winner Champagne Prince (Lope De Vega) and dual-winning Monarch's Gold (Too Darn Hot).
Night Of Thunder goes from strength to strength, making his mark as a dominant force shaping the breed. The only stallion with seven-figure sales yearlings in Britain, Ireland and France in 2025, his progeny are in high demand in the sales ring and well-represented at the highest level on the track.
