Proof, a three-year-old son of Dubawi, recorded his first Black Type victory on Thursday, 16 July when winning the Listed Prix Pelléas. Run over 2000m at Compiegne, he made all the running and wasn’t hard pressed to win by one-and-a-quarter lengths.
Making his first start of 2026, he never won as a juvenile despite running in top company including a third in the G1 Critérium de Saint-Cloud last October.
Owned and bred by Wertheimer Et Frere, Proof is a son of the winning Galileo mare Mathematicienne, who has now produced four Stakes winners from her eight foals to race.
Bred on the same Galileo-mare cross as Night Of Thunder and Ghaiyyath, Proof was the 30th Stakes winner to be bred like this at a sensational 21% to runners.
Dubawi’s best performers of 2026 are led by the superb five-time winning G1 miler Notable Speech, thrilling winner of the Lockinge at Newbury in May. He will likely join six other sons of Dubawi on the Darley roster at the end of his career: Ghaiyyath, Modern Games Naval Crown, Night Of Thunder, Space Blues and Too Darn Hot.
