More Stakes success for Harry Angel

Zealously adds to his expanding CV with deserved Listed win at Hawkesbury

Zealously proved a horse to follow as he stormed home in the Listed Gold Rush Stakes at Hawkesbury over 1100m on Saturday 2nd May 2026.

Making all under Tom Sherry, the four-year-old led the field in a commanding performance in which he was never challenged to claim his first victory at Stakes level. The talented Peter Snowden-trained gelding was dominant despite 'doughy' ground conditions not being in his favour, bringing his winning tally to six.

Bred by Vieira Group PTY Ltd, Zealously is out of the mare Duenna (Sepoy).

Harry Angel is second only to Blue Point for three-year-old plus sprint winners in Europe in 2025 - level with Sioux Nation and Havana Grey. Also enjoying spectacular results on the main stage in Australia, he is proving popular in the sales ring with yearlings realising up to 160,000gns. He stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £10,000 (Oct 1st SLF)
