Ombudsman, the star son of Champion sire Night Of Thunder, made a perfect start to 2026 with an easy victory in the Dubai Turf. Run over nine furlongs at Meydan, he was held up early and after cruising through the field, quickened clear to record a very easy two-length triumph.

Ombudsman has now had 10 career starts for an impressive seven victories and three seconds. He won his first G1s last season when taking the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Juddmonte International Stakes at York.
Bred by James Hanly and a 340,000gns yearling, Ombudsman is a son of the winning Dansili mare Syndicate, a half-sister to two Stakes winners.
Night Of Thunder was crowned Champion sire in GB and Ireland for the first time in 2025. In total, he sired 32 Black Type winners last season including his first British Classic winner in Desert Flower and the Dewhurst hero Gewan.
