Snapraeterea the latest winner for Buratino

Colt victorious in Ireland to become the third successful runner for his first-season sire

First-season sire Buratino added a third winner to his tally on Thursday, 2 July when Snapraeterea made a successful debut at Bellewstown, Ireland.

A little slowly away under Declan McDonogh, the Joseph O’Brien-trained colt raced towards the rear during the early stages of the one-mile contest. Making headway from half a mile out, Snapraeterea took the lead a furlong from home and despite jinking in the closing stages, kept on well to win by half a length.

Snapraeterea is owned and bred by J P Farrell and is out of the five-time winner Snap Alam (Alamshar), already dam of a Group performer in Snapraeceps. They are from the extended family of Kalanisi.

Buratino was a very smart juvenile who won the Coventry in a faster time than Calyx. He also won the Woodcote Stakes during his juvenile campaign, the same race won last year by Pinatubo.
