Tawkeel the latest G1 winner for Teofilo

Unbeaten filly storms to victory in Prix Saint Alary at Chantilly

Teofilo recorded a new G1 winner in superb fashion on Sunday, 14 June when his three-year-old daughter Tawkeel extended her unbeaten run to four with a brilliant victory in the G1 Prix Saint Alary.

Always prominent under jockey Cristian Demuro, Tawkeel travelled well throughout the 10-furlong contest and once asked to quicken, demonstrated a devastating turn of foot to skip clear of her rivals and win going away by five lengths.

Tawkeel made her racecourse debut at Pau back in January, winning a one-mile maiden by just over a length. She followed up in February with a four-and-a-half-length victory at Cagnes-sur-Mer, before making it three wins on the bounce at Deauville on Sunday, 24 May.

A Shadwell homebred, Tawkeel is the first foal to race out of the Stakes-winning Oasis Dream mare Rafaadah. The dam is herself a daughter of Champion two-year-old Joanna and is from the family of another Champion in Willie Cazals.

Teofilo is now sire of 17 G1 winners, including Hong Kong star Exultant, who has won twice at the top level this year. He is also sire this year of fellow Group winner Brasilian Man, plus Stakes-winning trio Aktau, Saiga and Satomi.
