Son of Teofilo strikes at Newmarket

Liberty Lane lands the Listed James Seymour Stakes

Liberty Lane, a five-year-old son of Teofilo, doubled his Stakes winning tally on Saturday, 1 November when landing the Listed James Seymour Stakes. Run over Newmarket’s straight ten-furlong course, he made all the running to win by two-and-a-quarter lengths over Gethin (Ghaiyyath).

Owned and bred by Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum, Liberty Lane is the first foal of the winning Cape Cross mare Cape Liberty, who also has a Palace Pier foal.

Liberty Lane is one of 102 Black Type winners sired by Teofilo. He is creating a lasting legacy through his grandson Havana Grey, and his daughters have produced the top-class performers Inisherin, Coroebus, Ezeliya and Mac Swiney.
