Rosy Morning

Progressive daughter of Exceed And Excel registers easy win

Rosy Morning (Exceed And Excel) had shaped with promise on her debut at Brighton ten days ago, and she recorded her first victory with some ease in a 6f fillies' maiden at Chelmsford, winning by four and a half lengths.

The filly is out of the Dubai Millennium mare Bright Morning. A winner herself at two, Bright Morning is a half-sister to several Stakes performers, most notably the outstanding performer Desert King, who scored a Classic double in the Irish renewals of both the 2,000 Guineas and Derby in 1997 having also landed the G1 National Stakes at two. Further back in the family is the top miler Maroof.

Rosy Morning is a third winner for her dam, who has a yearling filly by Helmet">Helmet and foaled a filly by Teofilo">Teofilo this year.
