Waldnah wins her first Stakes race

Daughter of New Approach lands the Listed Dallmayr Coupe Lukull

New Approach’s three-year-old daughter Waldnah gained a valuable Black-type victory on Sunday 26 July when landing the Listed Dallmayr Coupe Lukull at Munich in Germany. Sent to front soon after the start in the one mile contest and setting a good pace, she never saw another rival to record her second career victory.

Owned and bred by Newsells Park Stud, Waldnah is a half-sister to Classic hero Masked Marvel, who was victorious in the St Leger in 2011. Her dam, the G2-placed Mark Of Esteem mare Waldmark is a half-sister to Dubawi’s German Derby winner Waldpark and out of the German Champion Wurftaube.

Waldnah is New Approach’s fifth Stakes winner in just over a month. Connecticut started the ball rolling in late June when winning the Pontefract Castle Stakes by 16 lengths, and in July he has sired the Group winners Ceisteach and Elliptique and the Listed Gala Stakes victor Tha’Ir.
