Worthadd records his fifth Group victory

Classic-winning son of Dubawi wins the Badener-Meile

Worthadd, one of the stars of Dubawi’s first crop who won the Italian Derby in 2010, notched up his fifth win at Group level on 17 May when landing the G3 Badener Meile at Baden-Baden, Germany.

Making his first start for new trainer Sir Mark Prescott, the five-year-old made light work of his rivals in the one-mile contest and was never troubled while easing to a two-and-a-half-length victory.

This was the ninth career win for Worthadd, who found only Canford Cliffs too good in last year’s Lockinge Stakes. He was also third in the G1 Premio Vittorio di Capua at three.
Worthadd has plenty of options for his next start, as he holds entries in the Tattersalls Gold Cup, the Queen Anne and the Prince Of Wales’s at Royal Ascot, plus the Eclipse later in the season.

Dubawi is enjoying another outstanding year, courtesy of Dubai World Cup winner Monterosso, the fast-improving G2 winner Al Kazeem, and last week’s Chester Vase winner Mickdaam. He has sired no fewer than eight Stakes winners this year and a further 13 Stakes performers.
