The winners keep coming for Epaulette

Augenblick makes a successful debut to become her sire’s 19th individual winner

Epaulette’s first crop are well and truly flying at the moment and on Monday, 9 October he notched his 19th winner when Augenblick won at the first time of asking at Kempton.

The Roger Varian-trained filly was always prominent under Andrea Atzeni and battled tremendously against previous winner Ortiz inside the final furlong, keeping on superbly to win the seven-furlong by a head.

Augenblick was bred in Ireland by Michael O’Mahony and is now the third winner out of Freezing Love (Danzig), a full sister to Black Type winner and G1 placegetter Alyzig.

Epaulette recorded a double only last Friday, when Omaha Beach and Militry Decoration won at Maisons-Laffitte and Dundalk respectively, while earlier in the week Fayrouz Rose made a victorious racecourse debut at Nottingham.
