Valuable win for son of Territories

Aldaary lands the Balmoral Handicap on Champions Day at Ascot

Territories progressive three-year-old son Aldaary maintained his upward profile when winning the Balmoral Handicap, off an official handicap mark of 109, on Champions Day at Ascot. Run over the straight mile course, Aldaary kicked for home a furlong out and secured a one-and-a-half length victory in the style of a Group horse.

Bred by M E Broughton, Aldaary is out of the winning Pivotal mare Broughtons Revival, who also has a yearling colt by Territories.

Territories is one of four G1 winners descending from the great mare Helen Street after Street Cry, Shamardal and new Darley recruit Victor Ludorum. Territories is enjoying an excellent season with his runners earning nearly £15,000 each, which is higher than all second-crop sires with 75+ runners. He had his breakthrough G1 winner at the Arc meeting when Rougir won the Prix de l’Opera.
