Valuable Stakes win for Lucie Manette

Daughter of Shamardal lands the Listed Prix de Saint-Cyr

Shamardal’s three-year-old daughter Lucie Manette flew late on Sunday, 21 October to land her first Stakes race in the Listed Prix de Saint-Cyr. Run over 1400m at Chantilly, she recorded a narrow victory of Exceed And Excel’s daughter Spaday.

Making only her sixth career start, she was winning her second race and adding to a Stakes-place when third in the Listed Prix des Lilas back in May.

Lucie Manette is a daughter of the Tiger Hill mare Padmini, who won her only career start, who herself is a daughter of the three-time G1-winner Petrushka.

Shamardal is the sire of 32 Stakes performers this season including brilliant Hong Kong performer Pakistan Star, G1 E.P. Taylor Stakes heroine Sheikha Reika, and the Royal Ascot Group winning pair Blue Point (G1 King’s Stand Stakes) and Aljazzi (G2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes).
