Two winners in one day for Epaulette

First-season sire notches his 17th and 18th successful runners on Friday

Epaulette’s first crop of two-year-olds have been making a great impression on the racecourse and on Friday, 6 October he added two new winners to his record when Omaha Beach and Militry Decoration were victorious at Maisons-Laffitte and Dundalk respectively.

Omaha Beach was making her racecourse debut and showed little signs of greenness as she was settled just off the pace under Maxime Guyon. Asked for her effort once entering the home straight, Omaha Beach picked up well and took the lead close to home, eventually winning by a length and a half.

Omaha Beach was bred by Diane Williams and is out of Hundredsnthousands, also dam of Iffraaj’s Group-placed daughter Spanish Fly.

Later on Friday, Militry Decoration brought up the double for his sire when landing the seven-furlong Nursery at Dundalk.

Always close to the pace, Militry Decoration took the lead a furlong from home and responded well under pressure to prevail by a head.

Bred by Jackie O’Flynn, Militry Decoration is the first winner out of Funcheon Vale, a half-sister Group winner Miss Vegas.

Epaulette is also sire of Stakes-placed filly Sankari Royale, plus multiple winners Rogue, Regimented and Doublet.
