Too Darn Hot impresses at Sandown

Juvenile son of Dubawi lands the G3 Solario Stakes

The impeccably bred Too Darn Hot, a juvenile son of Dubawi, remained unbeaten in some style on Saturday, 1 September when running right away with the G3 Solario Stakes. A maiden winner at the same track at the start of August, he coped well with the drop back to seven furlongs, running right away in the final furlong to record a four-length victory with Iffraaj’s son Confiding back in third.

Owned and bred by Lord Lloyd-Webber, he is a son of the outstanding Dar Re Mi, who won three G1’s and hails from the brilliant extended family of Delsy. She has had three foals to race by Dubawi so far after G1 filly So Mi Dar and very impressive unbeaten Stakes winner Lah Ti Dar. She also has a yearling colt and a filly foal both by Dubawi.

The Dubawi/Singspiel-mare cross has now produced ten Stakes winners from only 25 runners including top-flight winners Wuheida and Left Hand and recent York G2 scorer Old Persian.

Dubawi has been on an amazing run, siring 12 Stakes winners (double his nearest rival) since the beginning of August. Amongst his nine Group winners in this period was G1 Nassau Stakes heroine Wild Illusion. His 29 Stakes winners in 2018 leads all other stallions in the world, three clear of Galileo.
