Thrilling win for daughter of Exceed And Excel

Queen Supreme easily lands the G3 Yellowwood Handicap in South Africa

Irish-bred filly Queen Supreme won her first Group race on Saturday, 2 November when easily landing the G3 Yellowwood Handicap at Turffontein in South Africa. The three-year-old by Exceed And Excel cruised to the front and won with any amount in hand in the 1800m contest.

Bred by Thomas Hassett, Queen Supreme is a daughter of the unraced Gone Wet mare Call Later, who has now produced three Stakes winners including Be Ready, a son of New Approach who won the Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes.

It has been an excellent day for Exceed And Excel after siring the first two in the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes in Australia through Exceedance and Bivouac. Standing this coming season at a fee of €40,000, Exceed And Excel has sired 164 individual Stakes winners, third only behind Galileo and Dubawi amongst active European stallions.
