Thrilling Nassau Stakes victory for Wild Illusion

Daughter of Dubawi wins her second G1 at Goodwood

Dubawi’s stunning three-year-old daughter Wild Illusion landed her second career G1 on Thursday, 2 August when never seeing another rival in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood. Sent to the front straight from the stalls by William Buick, the daughter of the Monsun-mare Rumh gamely ran all the way to the line in the ten-furlong contest to win by two lengths.

The winner of the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac as a juvenile, this was her first triumph of 2018 after excellent efforts to be second in the G1 Oaks and G2 Ribblesdale Stakes and fourth in the G1 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket.

She is the second foal of the Stakes-winning Rumh, whose first was the Listed Montrose Fillies’ Stakes heroine Really Special (Shamardal). Hailing from the extended family of Electrocutionist, she also has a yearling colt and a colt foal both by Dubawi, and has been tested in foal to the same stallion again this year.

Dubawi recently cemented his place amongst the great global stallions when becoming the only sire in British history to have 100 individual Group winners. Amongst this number are 35 that have won at the highest level including 2,000 Guineas hero Night Of Thunder, four-time G1 winner Postponed and the 126-rated Hunter’s Light.
