Night Of Thunders’ lightly raced daughter Estrange landed her third Group victory on Saturday 30, May when winning the Lester Piggott Stakes. Run at Carlisle after Haydock’s abandonment, she cruised through the race before recording a one-and-a-half length triumph.
Estrange has now five of her eight starts including this same race last season before going onto triumph in the G2 Lancashire Oaks.
Bred by Antony Stroud, Trevor Stewart and James Hanly, she is a daughter of the Oasis Dream mare Alienate, who has produced two further Stakes performers in Basalt (Pinatubo) and Lmay.
Night Of Thunder was crowned Champion sire in GB and Ireland for the first time in 2025. In total, he sired 32 Black Type winners last season including his first British Classic winner in Desert Flower and the Dewhurst hero Gewan. 2026 has started in similar vein and already includes Ombudsman winning his third G1 in the Dubai Turf and the 2,000 Guineas hero Bow Echo.
