Third consecutive G1 Dubai Turf win for Lord North

Son of Dubawi strikes at Meydan

Dubawi’s brilliant son Lord North became the first horse ever to win three G1 Dubai Turfs with a thrilling win at Meydan on Saturday, 25 March. Always a smooth traveller, he came to the front on the bridle inside the final 200m, holding on well to defeat the Japanese-trained Danon Beluga with Nations Pride (Teofilo) an excellent third.

Lord North has now won ten of his 20 starts including the G1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2020.

Bred by Godolphin, Lord North is out of Najoum, who also has a two-year-old filly by Too Darn Hot, in training with Charlie Appleby, and a yearling colt by Dubawi.

Champion Dubawi has sired seven Group winners in 2023 more than any other stallion in the world. Lord North is one of his 53 all-time G1 winners.
