There’s no stopping Dubawi

Leading sire adds his second Stakes winner in as many days as Erupt stays unbeaten in the Coupe des Trois Ans

Before today, Dubawi was already the world’s leading sire of Stakes winners this year, but never one to rest on his laurels he added a second in as many days when his three-year-old son Erupt maintained his unbeaten record in convincing style at Lyon-Parilly.

Settled in third position early on in the 12-furlong contest, Erupt took up the running a furlong and a half from home and kept to his task superbly to win by three quarters of a length from G1 performer Big Blue. This was his second win in two starts, having won in eyecatching fashion on his racecourse debut last month. Owned and bred by the Niarchos family, Erupt is out of the Group winner and G1 performer Mare Nostrum, herself a half-sister to G1 winner Aube Indienne.

Owned and bred by the Niarchos family and trained by Francis-Henri Graffard, Erupt is out of the Group winner and G1 performer Mare Nostrum, herself a half-sister to G1 winner Aube Indienne.

Dubawi has now sired 16 individual Stakes winners this year, including three who have won at G1 level. He stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £125,000 October 1st SLF.
