Tercentenary for Time Test

Fast-improving Dubawi colt records his first Group win in style at Royal Ascot

Time Test, an impeccably-bred son of Dubawi, looks to be a G1 horse in the making after storming down the Ascot home straight to land the G3 Tercentenary Stakes on the third day of the Royal meeting.

Settled behind the early leaders under Frankie Dettori, Time Test was still cruising as the field entered the home straight and once asked for his effort, could not have been more impressive as he swept to the front and soon moved clear to win the ten-furlong contest by three and a quarter lengths.

The Roger Charlton-trained colt won on his second start at two, before finding only Iffraaj's Latharnach (second in this week's G1 St James's Palace Stakes) too good at Sandown last September. He opened his three-year-old season with a convincing win at Newbury last month.

A Juddmonte homebred, he is out of the G1 winner Passage Of Time, herself a half-sister to another G1 winner in Timepiece and a full-sister to King Edward VII victor Father Time. They are from the family of Twice Over.

Time Test becomes the 17th Group winner this year alone for the world's leading stallion Dubawi, who has no fewer than seven top-flight winners to his name so far in 2015.
