Teofilo three-year-old lands Carlingford Stakes

Paene Magnus becomes his sire’s 11th black-type winner

Jim Bolger’s homebred Paene Magnus became the 11th stakes winner for Teofilo with victory in the Listed Carlingford Stakes over ten furlongs at Dundalk on Friday night.

The three-year-old colt has now won his last three starts and has been placed at every other attempt bar his debut.

Paene Magnus is the second foal of the Danehill mare Luminaria, a full-sister to Scribonia, the dam of the black-type duo, Cuis Ghaire and Gile Na Greine.

Teofilo, who stands at Kildangan Stud for €35,000 (Oct 1, SLF), is also the sire of Group One winners Parish Hall and Loch Garman, both of whom are trained by Bolger, as is Teofilo’s Group Two winner Light Heavy.
